Featuring 15m high lead walls and over 580 sqm of climbable surface spread over our lead wall and bouldering facility.
ROPED CLIMBING
F51 has 15 climbing lines and over 40 graded routes with verticals and a selection of steep overhangs. Our main wall also includes two dedicated speed climbing walls with auto belays and speed timers to test speed and endurance.
BOULDERING
Expect bold multifaceted surfaces with varying angles and over 230sqm of surface with a multitude of routes and blocs to tackle. Our bouldering space also features hangboards and training features for those conditioning finger strength.

How old do you need to be to climb?
At F51, our minimum age requirement for climbing is 7 years old.

Does my child need to be supervised?
Anybody under the age of 16 must be supervised in the bouldering area by another climber who has passed our bouldering competency test and completed a climbing supervisor form. Anybody under the age of 18 must be supervised in the roped climbing, by another climber who has passed our top rope and auto-belay competency test and completed a climbing supervisor form. 16-18 year old can access the boulder and auto belays without supervision but still need a parent of guardian to sign their waiver the first time they use the gym.

How many children can I supervise at one time?
You can supervise up two children. Speak to a member of our climbing staff if you would like to find out more about supervising at F51.

Do I need to book online?
We definitely recommend booking online. Due to the size of our rock climbing area at F51, we do have a maximum capacity for all of our sessions. Without booking, you may run the risk of not being able to climb as the session may be fully booked upon your arrival.

Do I need to sign a waiver?
Yes. Due to the nature of rock climbing and our ABC (Association of British Climbing Walls) guidelines, we have a number of different waivers for each type of rock climbing discipline at F51. You may find yourself signing more than one waiver (or a supervisor form) depending on the session you have picked.

Why can I only book one person at a time?
To ensure we capture the relevant safety information for each person, bookings are made on an individual basis.

Can I use the bouldering area without any experience?
If you are a new customer to bouldering (hello and welcome), we will ask you upon arrival if you have watched the bouldering safety video which you can view here. This video will make you aware about the risks and hazards you may find while bouldering. After watching this video, you will then be free to use our bouldering area independently.

Do you offer lead climbing?
Here at F51, we have a dedicated lead climbing wall over 15m high! We currently do not hire out any climbing ropes, so we ask that you bring your own. All lead climbing ropes are recommended to be over 40m long and must conform to the current CE mark standards. At the moment, we do not allow climbers to clip in their own quickdraws. You must clip in to the quickdraws already placed on the wall. When you have finished your lead climb, we insist on you clipping onto the final quickdraw attached to our anchors at the top of the climb.
If you haven’t yet learnt to lead climb, we are unable to allow you to lead climb. A heads up, we currently don't offer instructed sessions on lead climbing.

Can I bring a novice climber with me to rope climb?
You can only supervise up to two novice climbers. They must not belay somebody else or you (the supervisor) without another competent climber (who has also passed our top rope/auto-belay competency test) shadowing the rope.
