Folkestone 51 is run with the same FOLKE values as all of The Sports Trust’s facilities and projects: Fun, Opportunities, Local, Kindness and Equality. 

Here’s what that looks like at F51: 

FUN AT THE FRONT

Fun comes first, always. The most important part of any sport is having fun, it’s the part which makes you want to come back and do it again and again. That’s why we always make sure having fun is our number one priority.  

Opportunities and collaboration

We love working with other people. We believe that collaborating with partners who have the same ethos and values as us is so important to help us collectively make a positive difference to our community. Sometimes one conversation can bring around incredible opportunities.

Local and proud

We are beyond fond of Folkestone and are proud to be a small piece of the puzzle of people, businesses and spots which make our town so unique. Our local community will always be at the forefront of our thoughts: we’ll listen to local people, support Folkestone-run businesses and invest all of our profits back into community initiatives and charitable activities.

Kindness is radical

Everybody should feel safe within F51, regardless of age, race, gender identity or sexual orientation and we have a zero tolerance policy to hate. We will seek to celebrate those who rise above hostility and those who break away from the status quo and understand the impact which our words and actions can have on the mental health of those around us. This is more than just keeping negativity to yourself; It takes courage to be kind in the face of hate, and If we want to collectively make a real difference to the mental health crisis, we have to start with kindness.

Equality across the board

We recognise that some individuals may feel alienated by the idea of setting foot within a facility that would traditionally be dominated by a single demographic. We are at a very exciting turning point in which wheeled sports, climbing and boxing are becoming more and more diverse. In order to support this shift, F51 will make sure that everybody is sincerely represented within our facility and equally feel at home.
